KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Concordia (Calif.) becomes the fifth different preseason No. 1 team in as many years as the Eagles collected 250 points in the 2012 - 13 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced Tuesday. With a victory over No. 2-ranked Oklahoma Baptist in the 2012 national championship, Concordia has propelled itself to the top of the preseason charts. Coming off a 31-7 campaign, Concordia earned nine of the 10 first-place votes. The Bison posted the remaining first-place vote to go along with 242 points.
Georgetown (Ky.) tallied 231 points to earn the No. 3 ranking. The Tigers wrapped up the 2011 - 12 season with a quarterfinal tournament trip and a 26-9 record. No. 4 Robert Morris (Ill.) and No. 5 Rogers State (Okla.) round out the top five with 230 and 211 points, respectively. The Eagles have now been mentioned in the top 10 in each of the past 25 polls. Rogers State keeps alive a streak of being ranked overall that now stands at 17-straight weeks.
There are six teams that hop into the poll as newcomers, when referring to the 2012 Postseason Top 25 on March 26, 2012: No. 8 Westmont (Calif.), No. 9 Pikeville (Ky.), No. 12 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), No. 13 (tie) Westminster (Utah), No. 20 Cal State San Marcos and No. 25 Cumberlands (Ky.). All of these programs were ranked at least once during last season.

The Mid-South Conference leads all groups with four teams in the Top 25: Georgetown, No. 9 Pikeville (Ky.), No. 11 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and No. 25 Cumberlands. The Golden State Athletic Conference and Sooner Athletic Conference each land a triplet of ranked schools.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference and unaffiliated groups. The first regular-season Top 25 will be announced on Dec. 4. For more information on the polls, click here.
