OLATHE, Kan. - For the second straight game, the Benedictine (Kan.) men's basketball team needed overtime to decide the outcome of their game against a nationally-rated opponent.  This time, the Ravens (10-5, 2-2 HAAC) got out quick in the overtime period to hand No. 13 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) (12-5, 4-1 HAAC) its first loss of conference play, 67-60.

Tied at 48 points heading into the final three minutes of regulation, neither team backed down trading free throws and four baskets inside the paint.  The final layup came off the hands of Benedictine guard Jonathon Anaewke (Soph., Shawnee) and tied the score at 54 sending the game into overtime.

In the overtime, the Ravens jumped out on a 6-0 run and never looked back outscoring the Pioneers 13-6 to earn the win.

The game went back and forth from the start.  After nine lead changes and nine ties, MNU pulled ahead by two points, 26-24, at the break.

MNU led throughout the second half, but was never able to pull away from Benedictine setting up the final three minutes of regulation.

Benedictine finished the game hitting 41.4 percent from the floor while holding MNU to just 32.2 percent.

Anaekwe finished with a game-high 25 points while Raven forward Charlie Wallrapp (Jr., Omaha) added a double-double. Wallrapp finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  MNU was led in scoring by the 15-point effort of guard Rustin Dowd.

The Ravens remain on the road Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. game in Peru, Neb., against Peru State (Neb.).
