KANSAS CITY, Mo. Errick McCollum II of Goshen College (Ind.) was named the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Player of the Week in the final award of the season, the national office announced Tuesday. McCollum II was honored based on his performances from Feb. 15-21. He was chosen out of a pool of player of the week selections among 12 conferences and independents.

McCollum II, a 6-2 senior guard from Canton, Ohio helped unranked Goshen to two wins last week, including an upset over No. 19 Spring Arbor (Mich.).

In the 72-67 win over Marian (Ind.) on Feb. 16, he went for 27 points and 10 rebounds. He chipped in four steals, three blocks and two assists. Four days later, McCollum II netted 30 points, and in the process, set the Goshen single-season scoring record with his 752nd point. That effort came in the win over Spring Arbor, 87-78 on Feb. 20. The Mid-Central College Conference awarded McCollum II as the league player of the week.

In two wins last week, McCollum II averaged 28.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals. He shot 52.6 percent (20-for-38) from the field, including 13-for-17 (.765) from the foul-line.
