KANSAS CITY, Mo. – David Houlding of William Woods (Mo.) has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Houlding was selected based on his performance from April 14 – 20 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.
Houlding, a freshman from Leeds, England, fired an 11-under round of 61 at the Williams Wood University Dual on April 17. The score set a new school record and sent the freshman to a first-place individual finish. With his effort, Houlding notched his second individual victory of the year. The Owls defeated NCAA Division III member Westminster (Mo.) by a 263-358 score, for their fifth-straight team win.
