2013-14 Division II Menís Basketball Player of the Week Ė No. 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jalen Voss of Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) has been named the NAIA National Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Voss was selected based on his performances from Feb. 10 – 16 and was chosen out of a pool of conference and independent award winners.
Voss, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from Worthington, Minn., put up averages of 33.5 points and 15.5 rebounds while shooting 65 percent (26-of-40) from the floor in two Tiger wins last week. In the 102-85 win over Northwestern (Iowa) on Feb. 12, Voss finished with 33 points, 13 boards and three blocks. Three days later, he posted a season-best 34 points in the 86-72 road win at then-No. 13 Hastings (Neb.). He chipped in 18 rebounds. Overall, he has now recorded 10-or-more points in 25 of his 28 games this year.
Voss ranks third in the Great Plains Athletic Conference in scoring (20.9 ppg) and 21st in Division II.
