KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Becky Collier of Westmont (Calif.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Hillary Holt of College of Idaho has been selected as the NAIA National Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Collier and Holt were chosen based on their performances from March 31 – April 6.

Collier, a freshman from Riverside, Calif., set a Westmont record and the top mark in the NAIA with 4,824 points in the Heptathlon at the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational in Santa Barbara, Calif., on April 4 – 5. Collier did not finish lower than seventh-place in any event, including first-place finishes in the high jump (1.78m) and the javelin (31.86m). Her total points broke the school’s previous record by 543 points.

Holt, a native of Meridian, Idaho, ran the fastest collegiate outdoor 1,500-meter time so far this season with a 4:16.75 at the Stanford Invitational on April 4 – 5. The senior, who finished second only to professional runner Amanda Mergaert, missed the USATF “A” standard by three seconds. Holt followed that performance with a NAIA-best and College of Idaho record time of 2:06.59 in the 800-meters.
