KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Bryan Bock of Montana Tech has been named the NAIA National Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Bock was selected based on his performances from Jan. 28 - Feb. 3 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Bock, a junior guard from Rialto, Calif., scored a career-high 40 points - the most by a Montana Tech player in more than 10 years - in the Orediggers, 80-71, win at Dickinson State (N.D.) on Feb. 2. He finished the contest shooting 71.4 percent (15-of-21) from the field, including a career-high seven 3-pointers. Bock, who was only 1-of-2 Montana Tech players in double figures, also added four rebounds, five assists and three steals in the effort.
On the season, Bock leads the club with 74 assists and 37 3-pointers, while ranking second in scoring with a 13.3 points per game average.
