Forbes, a 5-8 junior midfielder from Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, recorded seven goals, two assists and 16 points in three Lubbock Christian victories last week. He opened the season with a pair of goals in the 2-0 win against Southwest (N.M.) on Aug. 29 and again versus Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Sept. 1 in the 4-3 victory. On Sept. 3 against St. Mary’s (Texas), a NCAA Division II member, Forbes became the first player in LCU program history to register a hat trick with a three-goal, two-assist performance on the road. Just one point shy of matching the LCU career mark for points, Forbes has posted the game-winner in each of LCU’s three matches this year.
Schultze, a 6-3 senior goalkeeper from Newnan, Ga., played 225 minutes in goal as Reinhardt began its season 3-0 with three road wins last week. He compiled 10 saves and allowed just one goal last week as the Eagles outscored their opponents 16-1. Schultze posted two shutouts, with the first one coming in the 12-0 combined decision against Tennessee Temple on Aug. 30 and then on Sept. 3 in the 2-0 win over John Brown (Ark.). Sandwiched between those matches, Schultze recorded seven saves in 90 minutes in the 2-1 win on Sept. 2 at Union (Tenn.), who was receiving votes in the latest national poll.
