KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Karissa Moreland of Bellevue (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Moreland was selected based on her performance from March 17 – 23 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.
Moreland, a sophomore from North Platte, Neb., tied the course record and won the individual medal with a 2-under-par 70 at the Iowa Intercollegiate Championships. The Bruins won the eight-team event, which was held at The Preserve Golf Course in Moravia, Iowa, with a team score of 311. The tournament was shortened to one round due to cold weather.
On the year, Moreland owns four top 10 finishes, including her title at the Iowa Intercollegiate Championships.
