KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Derek Hinen of Saint Francis (Ind.) has been named the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Hinen was chosen for his performances from November 27 – December 3 and was selected out of a pool of conference award winners.

• Hinen played a key role in a 2-0 week for Saint Francis, including draining a buzzer-beating, game-winner in the Cougars’ 98-97 victory over Marian (Ind.) on November 28. (Buzzer-Beater Video)

o Career-high 35 points in
o Averaged 29.5 points, 7.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals.
o Shot 63.3 percent (19-of-30) from the field and 54.5 percent (6-for-11) from beyond the arc.
o Converted 15-of-17 free throws (88.2 percent).
