KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jamie Palermo of William Woods (Mo.) has been named NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week for the 2013 spring season, the national office announced Wednesday. Palermo was selected based on her performances from March 18 – 24 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group golfer of the week selections.
Palermo, a two-time first-team All-American, finished second out of 53 golfers at the Eagle Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla., March 18-19. Palermo recorded rounds of 76-74 – 150 to finish six strokes behind winner Jessica Macphee of Thomas (Ga.). Palermo helped the Owls to a second place finish (318-300 – 618), one stroke behind the winner, Northwood (Fla.).
The next Women’s Golfer of the Week will be announced on April 3.
