KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jamie Palermo of William Woods (Mo.) has been named NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Palermo was selected based on her performance from April 15 – 21 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group golfer of the week selections.
Palermo, a junior from Santa Fe, N.M., claimed her second women’s golfer of the week honors after winning the Central Methodist (Mo.) Eagles Open at Hail Ridge Golf Club April 15 - 16. Palermo shot rounds of 71- 72 – 143 to finish one-under-par. She was the only player under par for the event. Palermo won the event by six strokes. Palermo led the Owls to a first place team finish, as William Woods compiled rounds of 298- 296 – 594 for the tournament.
The final Women’s Golfer of the Week will be announced on May 1.
