NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week – No. 9

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Brandy Broome of Southern-New Orleans (La.) has been named the NAIA National Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announce Tuesday. This honor, which encompasses performances from Feb. 23 – March 1, is the ninth and final of the 2014-15 season. Broome was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections.

National Player of the Week
Brandy Broome, Southern-New Orleans (La.)
5-9, Sr., F, Natchitoches, La.

• Finished the week averaging 18.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 7.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per game in two home victories for the Lady Knights.
• Opened the week with a double-double – 14 points and 15 rebounds – in Southern-New Orleans’ 81-71 win against Xavier (Ill.) on Feb. 23.
• Recorded the first quadruple-double in NAIA women’s basketball since 2005 with 23 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists and 11 steals against Talladega (Ala.) on Feb. 28. Also had two blocks in the contest.
• Shot 40.6 percent (13-for-32) from the field.
• Owns 14 double-doubles and an NAIA-best three triple-doubles on the season.
• Leads the NAIA in steals per game (6.3), while ranking fifth in assists per game (5.9).
• Collects the first NAIA Player of the Week award of her career.
