KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Michael Moffitt of Indiana Wesleyan has been named NAIA National Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Joseph Mullen of Tennessee Wesleyan has been selected as the NAIA National Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Muncy and Wolken were selected based on their performances from March 16 – 22. This is the first award of the 2015 outdoor track & field season.
Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Michael Moffitt, Indiana Wesleyan
Jr., Marion, Ind.
• Won the NCAA Division I Wake Forest Open High Jump competition on March 21.
• He recorded a leap of 7- ½ (2.15 meters).
• The height is an NAIA 'A' championship qualifying standard.
• Broke a 19-year-old Indiana Wesleyan record.
• The mark is currently No. 1 in the NAIA and No. 5 at all collegiate levels.
Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Joseph Mullen, Tennessee Wesleyan
Sr., Philisburg, St. Maarten
• Took medalist honors in the 10k at the Emory Invitational on March 20.
• His time of 30:45.49 ranks No. 1 on the NAIA season chart.
• Hit the NAIA 'A' championship qualifying standard in his first career effort in the 10k.
