KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Will Rushworth of William Woods (Mo.) has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. He was selected based on his performances from March 30 – April 5 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

• Rushworth won the William Woods Spring Invitational on March 30-31 by carding a tournament-record 10-under par 134 (67-67) at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo.
• The freshman bested a field of 32 golfers on the 6,883-yard, par-72 track. Second-place was four strokes behind – teammate Billy McKenzie.
• The Harrogate, England, native’s stellar play also propelled his second-ranked team to an overall victory with an 8-under par 568 (287-281), 51 strokes ahead of Columbia (Mo.) (312-307).
• Claims his first national honor.
