2015 NAIA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week – No. 4 (Sept. 29)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Samantha Wooster of Houston-Victoria (Texas) and Yvonne Ploeg of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) have been named the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Players of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday. Wooster and Ploeg were selected for their performances during the week of Sept. 21 – 27 and were selected from a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.
National Defensive Player of the Week
Samantha Wooster, Houston-Victoria (Texas)
Jr., GK, Pflugerville, Texas
- Had nine saves in a game against No. 24 Oklahoma City and is averaging seven saves per game on the season.
- Recorded her second-straight shutout in her second start.
- She has not allowed a goal in the last 190:54 in goal.
- This is her first career National Defensive Player of the Week award.
National Offensive Player of the Week
Yvonne Ploeg, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.)
Fr., F, Grootegast, Netherlands
- Recorded three goals in a 6-3 win over No. 5 Martin Methodist (Tenn.).
- These three scores came against a Martin Methodist defense that ranks No. 4 in the NAIA in shutouts per game (0.710) and No. 11 in total shutouts (11).
- Added one assist for a total of seven points.
- This is her first career National Offensive Player of the Week award.
