2015 NAIA Menís Soccer Player of the Week Ė No. 7 (Oct. 20)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tyler Gahara of Fisher (Mass.) and Jorge Navarrete of Southeastern (Fla.) have been named NAIA National Players of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday.  These two were selected based on their performance from Oct. 12 – Oct. 18 and were chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections.

National Offensive Player of the Week
Tyler Gahara, Fisher (Mass.)
Jr., Fwd., Hooksett, N.H.
• Scored five goals in four matches to help his team to a 3-1 week.
• Ranked No. 5 in points (2.63)
• Also registered three assists en route to 13 points.
• This is his first career player of the week award.

National Defensive Player of the Week
Jorge Navarrete, Southeastern (Fla.)
Fr., G, Plant City, Fla.
• Totaled 14 saves in two games to help his team to a 2-0 week.
• Secured his fourth shutout of the season with 11 saves in a 1-0 win against No. 7 Thomas (Ga.).
• Averaged 7.00 saves last week with only one goal allowed.
• This is his first career player of the week award.
