2016 NAIA Menís Golfer of the Week Ė No. 1 (March 23)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seth Sanders of Coastal Georgia has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. He was selected based on his performances from March 14 – 20 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

• Sanders finished first and led the two-time defending national champion and fourth-ranked Mariners to a first-place team finish at the Carey Collegiate Classic last week – hosted by William Carey (Miss.).
• He shot 6-under-par, a 138 two-day total, over the 36-hole event to win by two strokes.
• Shot a 68 in the second round, which was the lowest round score of the tournament.
• The Mariners were tied for first after the first 18, but shot 8-under for a second day team round total of 280 – led by Sanders’ 68 – to win the event by nine strokes.
