KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Alexandre Taiar of Oklahoma City has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Caleb Jenkins of Benedictine (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday.
National Offensive Player of the Week
Alexandre Taiar, Oklahoma City
5-6, Jr., MF, Sao Paulo, Brazil
• In one match this week, Salgado recorded two goals, tallying four points.
• Taiar posted two of the Stars three goals as he helped the Stars defeat Southwestern Christian (Okla.), 3-2.
• The Stars victory boosted them into a tie for third in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
National Defensive Player of the Week
Caleb Jenkins, Benedictine (Kan.)
Jr., GK, San Antonio, Texas
• Jenkins recorded 13 saves as he led the Ravens to three shutout victories.
• Jenkins has posted four shutouts in conference play, leading the team to four-straight victories.
• Ranks No. 24 in the NAIA in saves per game ( 5.64).
