KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Torren Jones of William Penn (Iowa) has been named the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Jones was selected for his play during the week of Feb. 13 - 19 and was chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.
Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Torren Jones, William Penn (Iowa)
6-9, Sr., F, Chandler, Ariz.
• Jones posted 70 points, while leading the Statesmen to three victories last week.
• Recorded 13 points, 14 rebounds and one block against Missouri Valley to record his 20th double-double of the season.
• Posted 23 points, 10 rebounds and two steals in an 85-69 victory over Clarke (Iowa) to record his 21st double-double of the season.
•.Logged 34 points and 18 rebounds in a 96-84 victory over Graceland (Iowa) to post his 22nd double-double this year.
• Averaged 23.2 points, 14.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals during the week.
