MOBILE, Ala.- The quarterfinals of the 2018 Women’s Tennis National Championship wrapped up with the top four seeds in the tournament advancing to the semifinals.
No. 1 Keiser (Fla.) def. No. 8 Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) – 5-0
No. 4 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) def. No. 5 Brenau (Ga.) – 5-3
No. 3 Xavier (La.) def. No. 11 LSU Alexandria – 5-0
No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett def. No. 10 William Woods (Mo.) – 5-0
For the first time since 2012, the top four seeds will appear in the semifinals of the 2018 Women’s Tennis National Championship.
Lindsey Wilson will make their sixth-consecutive appearance in the semifinals, marking the longest active streak. Georgia Gwinnett is close behind, as they head into their fifth-consecutive semifinal matchup.
Georgia Gwinnett, Keiser, and Lindsey Wilson all are returning to the semifinal from 2017. Keiser is returning back to the semifinals for the first time since 2003, when they won the national title.
The quarterfinal matchups contained three 5-0 matches. This is the first time it has happened since 2008.
