KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Greg Truvillion of Union (Tenn.) University has been selected as the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 23-March 1. Truvillion won this honor two weeks ago. This announcement marks the final 2008-09 Player of the Week.
Truvillion, a 6-8 junior forward from Lansing, Mich., collected two more double-doubles while helping his club secure the TranSouth Conference regular season title with a 3-0 week. In the three-point win over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.), Greg had 23 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Then, he went for his 10th double-double of the year with 12 points and 11 boards in only 17 minutes of action. His services were not needed late in the game due to the 121-73 win over Blue Mountain (Ky.). In his final game of the week, he finished with 28 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals in the 89-75 victory over Mid-Continent (Ky.).
Overall on the week, he averaged 21.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.7 steals. He shot 64 percent (23-of-36) overall and 16-for-20 (.800) from the foul line. He has now totaled 10 double-doubles on the year including six in his last eight games.
Among national statistical leaders, Greg ranks 11th in field goal percentage (.591) and 13th in rebounding (9.0). For more information on the NAIA statistical rankings, click here.
