KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Greg Miller of Grace (Ind.) has been tabbed the NAIA National Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Miller was selected based on his performances from Jan. 21 - 27 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group winners.
Miller, a 6-foot-6 junior forward, was an integral part of two wins for Grace last week. He averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists. The Akron, Ind., native shot 60.6 percent (20-of-33) from the field.
Miller tallied 23 points and 10 boards in the 80-77 victory over No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan on Jan. 22. He converted a pivotal three-point play with 38 seconds left to give his team the lead for good. That win pulled the Lancers to within one game in the Crossroads League standings at 9-3. On Jan. 26 at Huntington (Ind.), Miller scored 25 points and again hit a double-double with 10 rebounds in the 81-75 win.
He has now hit for double-digits in points in 17-straight games and 22-of-23 contests. His 12 double-doubles are tied for fifth most in NAIA Division II ranks. In national statistical rankings, Miller is ninth in rebounding average (9.7), 30th in field goal percentage (.541) and 34th in scoring (17.9).
