KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Brad Liston of Shawnee State (Ohio) has been named the NAIA National Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Nate Moses of Concordia (Ore.) has been selected as the NAIA National Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Liston and Moses were selected based on their performances from March 10 – 16. This is the first award of the 2014 outdoor season.

Liston (pictured top left), a senior from Circleville, Ohio, turned in the top time in the NAIA this year with a clocking of 9:11.94 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. His effort at the NCAA Division I Coastal Carolina (S.C.) Invitational on March 15 earned him an NAIA "A" championship-qualifying mark.  Liston shaved seven seconds off his school record during the team's first outdoor meet of the season.

Moses, a senior from Fresno, Calif., uncorked a school record 200-0 (60.97m) mark in the discus at the Saints Open contested in Gresham, Ore., on March 15. Not only is the mark the best in the NAIA, but Moore currently holds the early lead for all collegiate athletes as Jason Harrell of NCAA Division I Long Beach State (Calif.) has the next best effort at 191-9 (58.56). The 2012 NAIA national champion took first on March 15 among 37 other competitors.
