KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Julian Taylor of William Woods (Mo.) has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Taylor was selected based on his performance from March 30 – April 6 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.
Taylor, a junior from York, England, led No. 4 William Woods to new school and tournament records as the Owls cruised to a 41-stroke win at the William Woods Spring Invite on March 31-April 1 in Fulton, Mo. Two-time All-American Taylor shot eight-under par (68-68) to lead the team to a 36-hole total of 13-under par, 565. Taylor’s eight-under par total was good for the individual title, his second of the spring season after he shot four-under par to win the 25th Embry-Riddle Eagle Invitational on March 17-18 in Daytona Beach, Fla. Taylor’s rounds were one stroke off of his season-low 67, helping him to improve on his 72.21 season average, which ranks 14th in the NAIA.
