KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Myriam Hassan of William Woods (Mo.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Hassan was selected based on her performance from April 14 - 20 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.
Hassan, a sophomore from Newport, Wales, recorded a second-place finish at the NCAA Division I Indiana State Spring Invitational from April 13-14. Her score of 73-74=147 was 3-over par at the Terre Haute Country Club. Hassan and her teammates were the only NAIA golfers as she finished second in a field of 58 competitors.
Hassan currently holds the ninth best average score in the NAIA (76.75) and has now posted four top-five finishes this spring.
