KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hannah Fields of Oklahoma Baptist has been named the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Fields was chosen for her performance during the week of Oct. 20-26 and was selected out of a pool of conference and association of independent institutions award winners.

The senior from Edmond, Okla., ran away from the competition in the Mid-States Classic in Winfield, Kan. on Oct. 25. Fields bested the 197-runner event that featured five squads from Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

She completed the 5-kilometer race in 16:58 – 53 seconds ahead of the next finisher.

The four-time National-Award winner now shifts her focus to the Sooner Athletic Conference Meet on Nov. 8.
