NAIA Women’s Soccer Players of the Week – No. 3 (Sept. 22)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Samantha Silva of Middle Georgia State and Tori Ditter of Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) have been named the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Players of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday. Silva and Ditter were selected for their performances during the week of Sept. 14 – 20 and were selected from a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

National Defensive Player of the Week
Tori Ditter, Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.)
Fr., GK, Troy, Missouri

  • Helped lead the Lady Trojans to a 2-0 week by recording two shutouts against Williams Baptist (Ark.) (2-0) and St. Louis Pharmacy (Mo.) (1-0).
  • Logged 13 saves in the two games for an average of 6.50 saves per game
  • She ranks No. 7 in the NAIA in total saves (66) and No. 10 in saves per game (9.430).
  • Has four clean sheets on the season and owns a 3-3-1 career record.
  • This is her first career National Player of the Week award.

National Offensive Player of the Week
Samantha Silva, Middle Georgia State
So., F, Eatonton, Ga.

  • Scored two hat tricks and six goals in a 4-2 win over Georgia Gwinnett and a 5-0 victory over Wesleyan College (Ga.) (NCAA DIII).
  • Ranks first in the Southern States Athletic Conference and third in the NAIA in total goals with 12.
  • Ranks first in the NAIA and SSAC in game winning goals with four and is third in the NAIA with 24 total points.
  • This is her first career National Player of the Week award.
