NAIA Menís Division II Basketball Player of the Week Ė No. 4 (Jan. 26)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Aaron Larson of Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) was named NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday. Larson was selected for his play during the week of Jan. 18 – 24 and was chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

Aaron Larson, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)
6-8, Sr., F, Tolono, Ill.

• Averaged 33 points and 11 rebounds per game to lead the Tigers to a 2-0 week.
• Recorded his team-high ninth double-double (31 points and 14 rebounds) in a 81-64 win over (RV) Saint Xavier (Ill.) on Jan. 23.
• He ranks in the top 26 nationally in five categories, including No. 13 in points per game (22.7).
• Scored a career-high 35 points against Holy Cross (Ind.), shooting 81 percent (13-of-16) from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line.
• Shot 62 percent (25-of-40) from the field, 60 percent (6-of-10) from the three-point line and did not miss a free throw (10-of-10) from the charity stripe on the week.
• This is his first-career national player of the week award and the first Tiger since Antonio Marshall won on Feb. 21, 2102 (NAIA Division I), dating back to 2012.
