NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week – No. 4 (Jan. 26)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – ShunQuez Stephens of Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) was named NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday. Sims was selected for his play during the week of Jan. 18 – 24 and was chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

• Averaged 31.0 points and 20 rebounds per game to help the Lynx to a 1-1 week against American Midwest Conference rivals, Williams Baptist (Ark.) and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
• Scored a season-high 33 points (14-of-21 shooting) and brought down a season-high 21 rebounds in an 84-79 victory over Williams Baptist on Jan. 21.
• Recorded his tenth double-double on the season as he finished with 29 points and 19 rebounds in a loss (105-93) to No. 20 Freed-Hardeman on Jan. 23.
• Added five assists, one block and three steals on the week.
• Shot 69 percent (27-of-39) from the field and 87 percent (7-of-8) from the free throw line.
• This is his first-career national player of the week award and the first Lynx player to win, dating back to 2012.
