2016 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – No. 3 (Feb. 3)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kasey Renshaw of Siena Heights (Mich.) has been named NAIA National Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week and Hannah Segrave of Milligan (Tenn.) has been selected as the NAIA National Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Renshaw and Segrave were selected based on their performances from Jan. 25 – 31. The fourth Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week will be announced on Feb. 10.

Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week:
Kasey Renshaw, Siena Heights (Mich.)
Sr., Litchfield, Mich.

• Finished first in the weight throw at the Indiana University Relays - against NCAA DI athletes - on Jan 30. Participating schools included Louisville, Indiana, Cincinnati (Ohio), Purdue (Ind.), Alabama, Tulane (La.) and Norte Dame (Ind.).
• Her throw of 21.59m beat out the second-place finisher by 0.01m.
• By throwing 21.59m, she crushed her previous Siena Heights school record of 20.32m that she set at the Aquinas College Quad Meet No. 2 on Jan. 22, 2016.
• She has thrown 3.18m farther than any NAIA athlete this season. She holds the fourth longest toss in all college divisions (NCAA DI, DII, DII and NAIA).
• Qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships by hitting the “A” standard. She also qualified for the USA Track & Field Championships in Portland, Ore.
• This is her second career National Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week award, both this season.

Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week:
Hannah Segrave, Milligan (Tenn.)
Jr., Middlesbrough, U.K.

• Finished sixth in the 800-meter run against NCAA DI athletes at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Jan. 30.
• Her time of 2:07.37 is the fastest in the NAIA this season by over 3.5 seconds.
• Hit the “A” standard and qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships held in Johnson City, Tenn.
• Broke her own school record of 2:10.27 that she set at the 2015 Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
• Broke her own school record of 2:10.27 that she set at the 2015 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
• This is her first career National Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week award.
