NAIA Menís Division II Basketball Player of the Week Ė No. 7 (Feb. 16)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dewaine Lyals of Webber International (Fla.) was named NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday. Lyals was selected for his play during the week of Feb. 8 – 14 and was chosen out of the conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners. The final player of the week will be announced Feb. 23.

• Led the Warriors to a 2-0 week by averaging a double-double on the week.
• Recorded 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks in a 95-83 win over Johnson & Wales (Fla.) on Feb. 10.
• Logged his eighth double-double (39 points and 12 rebounds) in an 85-82 win over Southeastern (Fla.) on Feb. 13.
• His 39 points against Southeastern is a new career-high.
• Shot 56 percent (26-of-46) from the field and 65 percent (13-of-20) from the foul line.
• This is his first-career national player of the week award.
