2016 NAIA Menís Tennis Player of the Week Ė No. 4 (April 13)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -  Gilad Berman of Georgia Gwinnett has been named the NAIA National Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. He was selected based on his performances from April 4 - 10 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

• Singles victories against top-ranked NCAA Division II No. 3 Armstrong (Ga.) and No. 1 Hawaii Pacific and Division III opponents No. 1 Emory (Ga.) and No. 4 West Florida.
• Clinched a 5-4 team win with a victory over Ignacio Hernandez of NCAA Division II national championship favorite No. 3 Armstrong (Ga.), 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
• Went 6-1, 6-0 in No. 3 singles, against NCAA Division III No. 1 Emory (Ga.).
• Helped upend NCAA Division II No. 1 Hawaii Pacific with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win in his singles match.
• Owns a 17-0 singles record and 3-1 doubles record.
• This is his first career player of the week honor.
