NAIA Learfield Directors Cup

CLEVELAND – In the first NAIA spring Learfield Directors’ Cup standings Lindsey Wilson leads NAIA with 779.50 total points. The school added two top 10 finishes in women’s and men’s tennis, third and ninth respectively, to remain on top of the NAIA standings.

Oklahoma City is in second place with 724.25 total points after capturing the men’s golf title. Wayland Baptist remains in third place with 659.00 total points after an eighth place finish in men’s golf. Making a 12-spot jump to fourth is Keiser with 657.00 total points, thanks in part to finishing as the runner-up in both women’s and men’s tennis, as well as a fifth place finish in men’s golf. Northwestern (IA) rounds out the top five with 577.50 total points after finishing 18th in men’s golf.

The Great Plains leads all NAIA conferences with three institutions in the top-10 – Northwestern (IA) (5th), Morningside (7th) and Hastings (10th).

The  final NAIA spring standings will be released Thursday, June 7.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
