July 17, 2017 - The Golden State Athletic Conference Board of Directors announced that Life Pacific College will become the league's ninth member beginning with the 2017-18 season.

Life Pacific College, located just 30 miles north of Disneyland, will be a Provisional Member during its first year in the league as teams will not compete in a conference schedule. Life Pacific will be eligible for academic awards, but not all conference teams unless the team competes in the conference championship.  The Warrior teams will compete in the 2017 GSAC Cross Country Championship and 2018 GSAC Track and Field Championship.

“As Life Pacific College becomes Life Pacific University, we are truly honored to join the outstanding private institutions of higher education in the Golden State Athletic Conference,” said Dr. Jim Adams, President of Life Pacific College. “This membership will afford even greater opportunities in character development and quality competition for all of our student athletes for years to come.”

During their provisional year, Life Pacific will field a women's volleyball team, men's basketball team, men's and women's cross country teams as well as men's and women's track and field teams.  In 2018-19, the Warriors will add women's basketball and men's and women's golf and be included in all conference regular season schedules.

“We couldn't be more excited than to walk alongside other prestigious Christian universities,” said Life Pacific College Director of Athletics Tim Cook. “With the acceptance into the NAIA and GSAC, we feel like our athletic programs will generate a platform for student athletes to compete at a high level in the classroom and playing venues.”

"On behalf of the members of the GSAC, I welcome Life Pacific College into the conference,” said Chair of the GSAC Board of Directors, Dr. John Jackson.  “Life Pacific is a strategic fit with our mission and our plans and we are excited to have them join us,”

“Life Pacific College is a natural fit for the conference in its mission to develop Christ-driven student athletes and its commitment to the NAIA's Champions of Character program,” said Mike Daniels, Commissioner of the Golden State Athletic Conference.

The GSAC membership for 2017-18 also includes Arizona Christian University, Hope International University, Menlo College, San Diego Christian College, The Master's University, Vanguard University, Westmont College and William Jessup University.
