NAIA Menís Soccer Players of the Week Ė No. 4 (Sept. 27)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Daniel Whitehall of Hastings (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Garrett Byrd of Oregon Tech has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday.

National Offensive Player of the Week
Daniel Whitehall, Hastings (Neb.)

• In two matches last week, Whitehall recorded six goals, tallying 12 points.
• Whitehall scored six of the Broncos eight goals last week, including five against Kansas Wesleyan.
• Ranked No. 1 in the NAIA in five different categories: total goals (18), goals per game (2.0), game winning goals per game (0.56), total points (37) and game winning goals (5).

National Defensive Player of the Week
Garrett Byrd, Oregon Tech
6-2, Jr., D, Medford, Ore.

• In two games played last week, Byrd helped the Owls to two victories, including No. 11 Corban (Ore.).
• Byrd played all 180 minutes while holding two opponents to a combined 19 shots, including Corban to nine total shots.
• The Oregon Tech defense is now ranked No. 3 in the NAIA in total shutouts (6) and No. 5 in shutouts per game (0.67).
