North Farm Hosts 2016 Cross Country National Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has selected the North Farm Cross Country Course (North Farm) in Elsah, Ill., as the host facility for the 2016 NAIA Men’s & Women’s Cross Country National Championships on November 19th. The American Midwest Conference, with offices located in nearby St. Louis, Mo., will be hosts of the event.

The North Farm Cross Country Course is located just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. The women’s 5-kilometer championships will kick off the action at North Farm, which will be followed by the men’s 8-kilometer championships.

For qualifying teams and student-athletes needing access to an airport, Lambert - St. Louis International Airport is located near host hotels in the northeast St. Louis area. Hotel information for participating institutions will be available after 12 p.m. (Noon CDT) Friday via the hotel portal. All NAIA Cross Country Coaches will receive the portal link as soon as it is available on Friday. Parents, fans and others attending the championships are asked not to use this hotel booking portal and may reserve their accommodations at any time.

Our host, the American Midwest Conference (AMC) is a 13-school NAIA Division I conference with schools in Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee. It was chartered in 1986 as the Show-Me Collegiate Conference becoming the American Midwest Conference in 1994. The conference sponsors 16 championships, eight each for men and women - baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's outdoor track & field, women's volleyball and men's wrestling. The 2016 championships will be the 61st annual men’s event and the 37th yearly competition for the women.
