NAIA Eligibility Indicator Now Available
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its partnership with Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), the world’s largest collegiate athletic recruiting network. NCSA will serve as the official North American recruiting services partner of the NAIA.
A key component of this partnership is the creation of the NAIA Pre-Eligibility Indicator Tool in late December of last year, which will benefit both prospective student-athletes and college recruiters.
This new tool allows prospective student-athletes to showcase their future eligibility status to NAIA member institutions as early as their first year in high school. Students then have more time to meet the specific academic requirements needed to participate in intercollegiate athletics at NAIA member institutions. The pre-eligibility indicator also identifies any academic weaknesses, alerting students to correct any deficiencies that may affect future eligibility status.
Students who complete the pre-eligibility indicator will have a digital badge associated with their profiles so college coaches can easily identify those who are on track for a final eligibility determination into the NAIA.
"One of the biggest challenges in recruiting for student-athletes and college coaches is knowing if an athlete is going to be eligible," said NCSA President Lisa Strasman. "We are excited to be partnering with a progressive organization like the NAIA that can use our technology to solve this problem for both NAIA members and student-athletes."
"We are excited to make this innovative eligibility tool available to prospective student-athletes across the country," said NAIA President Jim Carr. "The NAIA Eligibility Indicator fills a great need for our students and coaches, providing insight in the academic strengths of students and a guide to securing future eligibility."
NCSA is the world's largest and most successful collegiate athletic recruiting network. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Reigning Champs LLC (www.reigningchamps.com), NCSA's 700 teammates leverage exclusive data, proprietary matching algorithms, and personal relationships built over nearly two decades as the industry leader to connect tens of thousands of college-bound student-athletes to more than 35,000 college coaches nationwide across 31 sports every year.
