NAIA Football Players of the Week ? No. 6

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ryan Kasdorf of Morningside (Iowa), Josh Techeira of Robert Morris (Ill.) and Carlton Toussaint of Bluefield (Va.) have been named the NAIA Football National Players of the Week, the national office announced Monday. The trio was chosen for their performances during the week of Oct. 6 – Oct. 12 and were selected out of a pool of conference and independent award winners.

National Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Kasdorf, Morningside (Iowa)
Sr., QB, Newhall, Calif.

• Tossed for a career-best 468 yards on 24-for-27 passing (88.9%) and six touchdowns.
• The passing yards is listed as fourth-best in Morningside school history.
• Completed 64-yard touchdown pass on Mustangs’ first offensive play of the game.
• Rushed for 12 yards on two attempts in the 76-14 win over Hastings (Neb.).
• Posted 480 yards of total offense, which was part of a NAIA single-game record 916 yards of team total offense.
• Ranks No. 1 nationally in passing efficiency (227.0) and is No. 6 in passing yards per game (287.4) and No. 7 in total yards per game (298.2).
• First career National Offensive Player of the Week award.
• Last player from Morningside to earn National Player of the Week honors: Darius Hicks (defensive) (Nov. 4, 2013) .

National Special Teams Player of the Week
Josh Techeira, Robert Morris (Ill.)
Sr., PK, Midlothian, Ill.

• Scored all 12 of the Eagles’ points in the 12-7 victory over then-No. 14 St. Francis (Ill.).
• Connected on field goals of 22, 28, 47 and 51 yards in going a perfect 4-for-4.
• The 51-yarder was a career-long.
• Averaged 44.5 yards on four punts, with three punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
• Earned same award on Sept. 22, 2014.

National Defensive Player of the Week
Carlton Toussaint, Bluefield (Va.)
Fr., DB, Orange, N.J.

• Became the first Rams player to finish with three interceptions in a single game.
• Posted four total tackles (1 solo) in the 45-27 win over Belhaven (Miss.).
• His first interception led to a Bluefield field goal in the second quarter and a 10-point lead.
• The final two picks occurred in the fourth quarter.
• First career National Defensive Player of the Week award.
• First player from Bluefield to earn a national weekly award since the program was reinstated in 2012.
