2019 NAIA Football Players of the Week – Week Eleven

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jake Johnson of Georgetown (Ky.) has been named the NAIA National Football Offensive Player of the Week and Christian Harmon of Midland (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week and Camdon Griffiths of Midland (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Football Special Teams Player of the Week, the National office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were nominated for their performances during the week of November 11 –17 and were selected out of a pool of conference award winners.

 

Special Teams Player of the Week

Camdon Griffiths, Midland (Neb.)         

Jr., P, Omaha, Neb.

  • Griffiths hit the game-winning 24 yard field goal with 40 seconds to play to upset Dordt (Iowa)
  • Weekly Stats:
    • Converted 4 PATs
    • Punted the ball six times (40.8 average yards)

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Christian Harmon, Midland (Neb.)

Sr., DB, Omaha, NE

  • Weekly Stats:
    • Three interceptions on the road against Dordt (Iowa)
    • Seven tackles (five solo)
    • Held the defenders to just 328 yards (100 below average)

Offensive Player of the Week

Jake Johnson, Georgetown (Ky.)

Jr., WR, Somerset, Ky.

  • Johnson hauled in four touchdown passes in final 25 minutes
  • Weekly Stats:
    • Four catches for 48 yards in first 30 minutes
    • Final 2 5minutes had seven catches for 128 yds
    • His 11 catches in a single game is new school record
    • Four touchdowns in single game ties school record
