KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Caleb Kennedy of Huntington (Ind.) has been named the NAIA National Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Hunter was selected based on his performances from Jan. 2 - 8 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Kennedy, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, posted a pair of double-doubles in three Forester victories last week. In the 84-76 road win at No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan on Jan. 3, Kennedy went for 19 points and nine rebounds. The native of Charlottesville, Ind., enjoyed a career night with a personal-best 19 rebounds to go along with 23 points and four assists in the 76-67 triumph over Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) on Jan. 5. Two nights later, Kennedy finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds, which was his 18th-straight game of 10-or-more points.

For the week, he averaged 22.7 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. He shot 53.2 percent (25-of-47) from the field and made 18-of-31 free throws (.581). Kennedy sits 14th in the NAIA in both scoring (20.3 ppg) and rebounding (9.1 rpg).
