2014 NAIA Men?s Golfer of the Week ? No. 5

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – James Marchesani of Oklahoma City has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golfer of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Marchesani was selected based on his performance from April 7 – 13 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated group winners.

Marchesani, a senior from Victoria, Rosebud, Australia, carded his third victory of the season as the Stars concluded the regular season by capturing the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational on April 8 at the John Conrad Golf Course. His first round total of 64 was one off a career-best and currently, is tied for the fifth best round of any NAIA player this season. His two-round total of 133 (64-69) won the Invitational by three strokes as he was -11 under par. His eagle during the second round was his fourth on the year, which is tied for third-most in the NAIA.

He helped Oklahoma City to a first-place team finish, winning the event by 28 strokes.

In national golf rankings, Marchesani is No. 1 overall in stroke average (71.14)
