NAIA Men's Soccer Players of the Week ? No. 1 (Sept. 4)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ram Keller of Southwestern (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Torge Wiedenroth of Reinhardt (Ga.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Keller and Wiedenroth were selected based on their performances from Aug. 27- Sept. 2 and were chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

  • Keller did it all for Southwestern in their sweeps last week against Manhattan Christian and Texas College. Keller collected six goals and one assist in the two games, earning a hat trick in both matches.

  • Wiedenroth played 200 minutes last week and made 13 saves - including a half-dozen in extra time at No. 20 Cumberland (Tenn.) on Sunday - to preserve a shutout. The senior captain has yet to surrender a goal in three matches this season.
