NAIA Men's Soccer Players of the Week ? No. 3 (Sept. 18)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Morris Kamara of Spring Arbor (Mich.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Zach Weidman of Spring Arbor has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the National Office announced Tuesday. Kamara and Weidman were selected based on their performances from Sept. 10-16 and were chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions and unaffiliated group winners.

Morris Kamara, Spring Arbor

  • Morris Kamara scored four goals in two games this week, including one in Spring Arbor's upset of No. 12 Cardinal Stritch (Wis.). He also recorded his second hat trick of the season with three goals against Lawrence Tech (Mich.). Kamara has a team-high eight goals this season, which also ranks first in the Crossroads League

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Zach Weidman, Spring Arbor

  • Zach Weidman made a career-high 11 saves in Spring Arbor's upset of No. 12 Cardinal Stritch. He followed that up with a three-save, combined-shutout win over Lawrence Tech. Since taking over as starting goalkeeper, Weidman has a 4-0-0 record, allowing one goal in 306 minutes of action, and 18 saves.
