Indiana Tech Advances Behind Decisive Second-Half Goal
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Indiana Tech secured a 1-0 victory over Bethel (Ind.), advancing behind a decisive second-half strike. After a balanced and scoreless opening half, the Warriors found their moment shortly after the break and carried out a composed second-half effort.
The breakthrough arrived in the 54th minute, when Joao Gustavo finished a ball played in by Tramaine Lawson to put Indiana Tech in front. From that point on, the Warriors managed the tempo, keeping Bethel at bay despite the Pilots’ attempts to push the offensive pace.
BU continued to search for an equalizer late, but Indiana Tech’s defensive shape held steady, and the Warriors limited the quality of the Pilots’ looks as the minutes wound down.
Bethel finished with a noticeable edge in total shots (12-6) and corner kicks (11-2). Indiana Tech goalkeeper Cuba Grant made the lone save on the lone shot on frame to preserve the clean sheet. Bethel keeper Maarten Schouten recorded two saves of his own.
Indiana Tech will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. against the winner between WVU Tech (W.Va) and Ottawa (Kan.).
