KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kyle Masteller of Aquinas (Mich.) has been named final NAIA National Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the 2013 season, the national office announced Wednesday. Masteller was selected based on his performances from April 22 – 28 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group player of the week selections.

Masteller, a senior from Holland, Mich., won all his matches last week at the Unaffiliated Group Tournament featuring Midwest Collegiate Conference, Association of Independent Institutions and Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference teams. Masteller has compiled a singles record of 21-3 and 19-7 doubles mark on the season.

In the Unaffiliated Group Tournament on April 26 against Grand View (Iowa), Masteller did not drop a set in No. 2 singles or No. 2 doubles action. Later that day against Indiana Tech, Masteller won his singles match, 6-1, 6-0 and also teamed with Frankie Fischer to win in doubles 8-6. In the title match against then-No. 17 Northwestern Ohio, Masteller won in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-2 and the team of Masteller and Fischer in doubles to come away with a 8-4 victory to help Aquinas claim the Unaffiliated Group Tournament.
