Cumberlands' Davis Shines in 400, Earning First Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week Honor in 2026
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cumberlands (Ky.) junior Tavon Davis opened the outdoor season in style Saturday at the Emory Spring Break Classic, winning the 400-meter run by nearly a second to earn the season's first NAIA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week designation, March 26.
Davis hit the A standard in his outdoor opener for the 2026 season, and his winning time of 46.2 seconds is the fastest time in the NAIA by nearly a second, as well.
The Utica, Miss., native won the event in a field of 50 runners.
The Patriots are back in action this week, at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State, in Raleigh, N.C.
