Robert Morris Enters First Regular Season Poll

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – In the first installment of the 2015 NAIA Men’s Volleyball Coaches' Top 10 regular season poll, Robert Morris (Ill.) enters the Top 10 and Concordia (Calif.) bumped up a spot from No. 3 to No. 2.

The Eagles went 2-0 to open up the season with a three set win over Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) and a five set win over then-No. 6 ranked St. Ambrose (Iowa) in five sets (27-25, 25-22, 21-25, 24-26, 11-15), the win over St. Ambrose knocked the Bees out of the Top 10.

Concordia also opened the season up 2-0 with a four set win over University of California-San Diego and a three set win over Springfield College.

No. 1 Park (Mo.) has yet to open up its season, the Pirates will face No. 3 Grand View (Iowa) this Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. inside its home venue of the Breckon Sports Center.

Then the Pirates host the Park Invitational on Jan. 23-24. They will face Culver-Stockton (Mo.) and Graceland (Iowa) on Jan. 23 and Morningside (Iowa) and No. 4 Clarke (Iowa) on Jan. 24.

Grand View drops down a spot to No. 3 this week, after a 2-1 start to its season. The Vikings defeated NCAA Division II McKendree in four sets, before falling to another NCAA Division II school Lindenwood in a tough five set loss (22-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 16-18).

No. 4 Clarke began its 2015 campaign with a 2-0 mark, winning both its matches against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) and St. Ambrose in three sets.

No. 5 Missouri Baptist is also off to a 2-0 start with home wins over Hannibal-LaGrange in four sets and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in three.

No. 6 ranked Hope International (Calif.) was busy last week with four matches, going 2-2. They began the season with a three set win over Coker College, but then fell in three sets to NCAA Division I Grand Canyon.The Royals split two matches with Springfield College winning in five sets and then falling in three.

No. 7 ranked Lourdes (Ohio) will open up its season this Friday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., as they host No. 10 Robert Morris in a Great Lakes Division showdown.

Missouri Valley bumped up a spot to No. 8 this week and begins its season at the Park Invite with four matches against Morningside,Clarke, Graceland and Culver-Stockton.

Cardinal Stritch also moved up one spot to No. 9. The Wolves come in this week with a 1-1 record, as they began the year with a five set win over Milwaukee School of Engineering, but then fell to Benedictine University in four sets.
