NAIA National Wrestler of the Week - No. 7 (Feb. 8)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chuck Sharon of Campbellsville (Ky.) has been named the final NAIA National Wrestler of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Sharon was chosen based on his performances from Jan. 30 – Feb. 5.

184-pound, Jr., Smithfield, Va.

• After taking down the then-No. 5 and then-No. 7 grapplers in the 184-pound class, Sharon improved to a perfect 22-0 record on the season.
• During the match against then-No. 5 Matt Walker of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Sharon tied the contest at 3-3 with 18 seconds left in the second period. After picking up two points in the third, his win helped the Tigers to a 15-14 lead in the dual.
• Sharon took an early lead over then-No. 7 Kyle Delaune of Cumberland (Tenn.) and never faltered as he took his second victory of the week, 8-4.
• With regular season ending, Sharon and his Tiger squad will travel to Bowling Green, Ky., for the NAIA Eastern Qualifier and Mid-South Conference Tournament on Feb. 18.
• This is Sharon’s second National Wrestler of the Week honor this season (Jan. 11).
