KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Artie Bess of Grand View (Iowa) has been named the NAIA National Wrestler of the Week, announced Wednesday by the national office. He was chosen based on his performances from January 1 – 7.

184 pounds, Sr., Deerfield, Ill.

• Bess helped Grand View (Iowa) to a seventh-straight NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals title by posting a 3-0 record at 184 pounds.
• His performance was highlighted by victories over then-No. 3 Hunter Smith of Life (Ga.) (4-3) and then-No. 2 Josh Chiles of Williams Baptist (Ark.) (5-3). The victory over Chiles came in the championship round.
• Bess’ other win at the event was a 9-0 major decision over Kohl Dodd of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
